The clients

While often our copywriting projects for healthcare, social care and medical companies have involved working with experts in their field, we have also relished collaborating with GP and dental practices who are heroes in the eyes of their patients without enjoying fame on the world stage.

These projects include blogs, long-form reports, core website content and confidential Honours List nominations (the latter in my role as a specialist consultant for the UK’s most successful awards experts, Awards Intelligence.)

Clients include a Harley Street doctor who also works tirelessly to support a BAME community in a provincial city, as well as carrying out charity work to promote healthcare in developing countries. He is a stand-out doctor, with a terrific record of kindness and is a local hero for his grace, patience and dedication. While he could spend all his time treating highly lucrative VIP clients, he instead chooses to prioritise a community far less fortunate than himself. I found speaking to those he cares for, from a police sergeant to the leader of a mosque, immensely humbling.

Another GP whose contribution is exceptional has handed out his personal phone number to 3,000 patients so they can call him whenever they need to – even when he away is on holiday. He has also created two medical centres from scratch, as has a further client who specialises in neurology. It was a great pleasure to write the application that won this healthcare professional the Queen’s Award for Enterprise alongside the string of medical accolades they had already received.

In another case I worked in collaboration with seven GPs who were collectively seeking recognition for the receptionist who had been at their practice for 50 years. Quite some record!

The challenge in working with a City of London dental practice was to showcase all that set it apart from its competitors. Research, meetings with the founder and a visit to the site made the task much easier once I had delved into its spectacular results: a fivefold increase in the number of patients seen every month and revenue up 170% thanks to a highly targeted social media strategy.
