The Client

Wessex Archaeology

Wessex Archaeology are among the most highly reputed archaeological services in the UK, offering a range of expertise above ground, below ground and underwater.

Editing Edge were asked to edit copy for their new website.

https://www.wessexarch.co.uk

The Problem

The website needed to communicate with passion and energy the many ways that archaeology is relevant to British life in the 21st century.

As many of the original pages had been written by different members of staff, bringing a coherent edit to the whole site was an important task.

The Answer

Editing Edge brought to life 45 pages of compelling content detailing a multitude of different services.

The key was to make each page customer focused, in keeping with Wessex Archaeology’s mission to serve clients ranging from property developers to universities.

Clear language was essential, cutting through scientific jargon to highlight the benefits of hiring Wessex Archaeology.

With topics ranging from conservation to community engagement, and geophysics to laser scanning, there was plenty of fascinating material to work with – golden nuggets in copywriting terms!

The Result

This was a joint project with talented PR expert Katy Taylor of TT Communications, and it was a delight to collaborate on a website that welcomes visitors to “the future of heritage.”
